I’d rather sign Minshew and take a chance on a 2nd or 3rd round QB this year. I’m not sold on Young or Stroud as NFL QB’s. Neither Bama or OSU have produced quality NFL starting QB’s despite being top programs with superstar talent.

Mac Jones looked like he would break that his rookie year but has lost his job to Zappe. Hurts has been the best QB from either Bama or OSU and even he isn’t a great passer but he is a great athlete. Levis may be good but he’s struggled and I wouldn’t consider him a sure thing. I think some of the later QB’s may wind up being better than the top 2.

I'm down to roll with someone like Minshew while we wait for the 2024 QB class, which looks to be super promising. I do think Bryce Young is the real deal if he can stay healthy, but he won't be in reach for us this year. Aside from his escapability, he throws with great anticipation and his ball placement is sick.

Edit: But I also don't want our future QB coming anywhere near this current coaching staff. Hopefully we'll have cleaned house by 2024.

I don't want Allen and PC nowhere near this decision

Edit...so my votes are...doesn't matter because if Allen and PC are here....and let Dalton run it back. That's their guy, they should sink or swim w/ him. Give him a full camp and season for 2023, let him either succeed or fail, then clean house if he fails.
That's the best way to move forward. 2023 will be such a wash, anything over 7 wins would be a good season. Clean house GM on down.

If we want to start fresh with a new QB then I see us being 2-3 years away from being competitive again. I also dont see that QB in this year’s draft class. However, we have to clear cap space and dead money to start fresh. Amazing players like Cam, DD, AK, MT13 and pretty much any veteran player over 27 needs to be released or traded.

So, I want to play the long game. Suck it up next year and clear every dollar of dead cap. Trade away as many draft picks as possible for future picks and go all in on the best QB in 2024 draft. If that QB isnt there then trade two first round picks for future picks and use the rest to start rebuilding through the draft. It may be 2026 again until we are competitive but we should be built for another long run.

Once we get the QB of the future then we can start adding key players in free agency while cashing in all of our draft collateral.
DA will go into 2023 as a lame duck coach. Do we think Loomis is the guy to make that call? Do we trust DA/Pete to groom the next QB? Leave DA coach in 2023, but get a new GM from outside the building.

Aaron Rogers and the Pack are ready to move on. SP would jump on the chance to coach Rogers his last 3-5 years.

Have you looked into Rodgers contract and what trading him will cost the Packers in a cap hit?

Trading him will cost them $67M in a cap hit. If they traded him then their GM should be fired instantly and sued for malfeasance.

They are not cutting or trading him!

I don't see any path to success with DA and PC being in place. The offense is bad. Bad play design, bad playcalls, no feel for the game, a more or less refusal to use Taysom until backed in a corner...they don't have the scheme in place for the pieces they acquired in the offseason.

I agree that I don't see a almost sure franchise QB in this yrs draft worth using a #1 pick on much less trading 2#1's but not much else. we have too many quality players in their prime or close to it to guy this team

DA needs to go, let Loomis move on as well without shame.

I chose “It doesn’t matter as long as Dennis Allen is HC” because I believe that to be undeniably true.

For my 2nd choice, I went with:

“Use whatever draft capital necessary to trade up for the clear best QB in draft”

…and the QB is without a doubt, Bryce Young.

Once Dennis Allen proves his gross ineptitude with a talent like Bryce Young, he’d get the axe quickly… Bryce Young is going to be a stud franchise QB.
Young is such a tiny fella tho haha

I agree almost 100% except that Jones didn't lose the starting job he was hurt. I don't think Stroud, Young or Levis is a franchise QB. I think this is the yr of the 2nd ,3rd or maybe even 4th rd QB blossoming into a star

I would definitely trade the two firsts to move up and get Bryce Young but I imagine the Texans won't be willing to trade away the pick and they'll take him.

I’m guessing that the guy who started this thread wasn’t an English major.

I’d trade any pick for the following year. I’d make Dalton or Winston QB for 2023 knowing I’ll lose more than I win then get players off the books in 2024 with a couple of first round picks and a better cap situation. I’d start over in 2024 with a head coach and try to build a solid foundation with a good coach and hopefully a good young relatively affordable QB. Don’t overpay for free agents. Try to build the team.

Also could we have 7 or 8 more choices?
