I clearly understand the frustrations with PC, but I would like to point out how well the Bucs have defended against us since DB9 retired. I re-watched the game, and it's almost like they know our concepts. They would not let Olave beat them over the top at all. This is the same defense that Brees would carve up. Minus a few departures, their personnel on defense hasn't changed much. Out of any team in the NFC South, they have been the most successful in knowing the Saints' tendencies on offense. Thoughts?

I disagree. Tampa has played well defensively against us when Payton quit. We beat them twice without Brees.
That's true

They seem to always be ready to take away the inside break on the option route (either with leverage or a hook/curl defender), but we should be getting opportunities elsewhere if they are doubling the option. I remember posting a few videos of Carr running the WS option with the Raiders, and remember him hitting Jacoby Jones on a TD against us when we bracketed the option. He more or less tried that throw on that 3rd and 1 call that preceded Derek Carr's first snap at fullback.

They have done well since Sean left. But, that is basically how the Saints are now that Sean is gone. That is such an issue. We aren't the best by any stretch at game planning on offense, even our scripted drives are not great. We are HORRIBLE at in game adjustments on offense, and even worse at half time adjustments on O.

Tampa game was technically the first game this year we got points on the opening scripted drive. Of course that opportunity was taken away in the Tennessee game because we fumbled the kickoff. We did get 3 on our next drive.

Going back to look at last year now.

Definitely agree.

Tampa, over the course of Drew’s career here, always seemed to be the one to game-plan him the best.

The “Tampa-2” as it was coined during the Dungy days always gave Drew fits because the drop linebacker always seemed to disrupt Drew’s rhythm short and intermediate passing.

He certainly found success from time to time - but I remember Drew always having an either a slow start or just outright average games a lot against the Bucs.

Tampa has always played us tough, that Cover-2 (Tampa 2) has given Payton's offense fits, but Payton would still throw seam passes and not just 4 yard outs and 13 passes to your running back behind the scrimmage in hopes he makes a play.

Off topic I know HAHA

In 21 games (last year and this year)

We have scored on 7 opening drives and not scored on 14 opening drives. 4 touchdowns and 3 FGs. The four touchdowns were against Arizona, Atlanta, Philly, and Carolina. In 2022 we were 3-3 in games we scored on the opening drive and 0-1 this year, unless you count the Tennessee game which we should not.

Of course looking back we were terrible Sean's last year as well. We scored on the first possession 4 out of 17 games. 1 TD and 3 FG's. We were 4-0 when scoring on our opening drive.

TB coaches watch game film to prepare for the Saints and have probably noticed that our offensive play calling hasn't changed in 10+ years. It makes it easy to prepare a game plan against us.
