Taysom Hill Talk (1 Viewer)

Has anyone else noticed the 'tell' that Taysom has?
He slaps the football with his left hand just before throwing....every time!
Brees had a 'tell' also.
His eyes would go from normal to totally huge right before throwing.
It doesn't take someone with many brain cells to notice and pay attention to use it against the teller...

IMHO if Hill is starting, his ability to scramble adds something that would make up for the lack of a joker (hey where is Tommy Stevens…or Tommy Parsons). If his accuracy is better, awareness is better, and reading of defense is better, that ability to scramble would be a major benefit which Brees, Teddy, or Jameis couldn’t replicate.
It's not just the scamble. Hill will put pressure on defenses as a runner too. Even an empty set can be a designed run.

Hill doesn't strike me as being particularly elusive in the pocket. But his strength and speed are something he will hurt defenses with. And not just a moving the chain type of runs, but a legitimate threat to take it to the house.

One of the knocks on Taysom Hill has been getting the ball out late. Nick Underhill lists that as one of his areas of improvement.

I'm not sure that analysts fairly take into account the extra workload of scanning for open lanes for rushing opportunities while he is simultaneously looking through his progressions.

Most QBs only run as a last resort and are not looking for potential rushing lanes as intensely when they scan the field.

Berek Brown on FNT Fantasy compared Taysom Hill to all the other QBs during the four-game window when Drew Brees was hurt.

This is where Taysom Hill ranked in the NFI

Taysom Hill Thread Overall (Rank)
(7th) On Target Throw: 79.7%
(3rd Lowest) Bad Throw 13.6%
Weeks 11-14: (Among 41 QBs w/ 20 or ^ DB)
12th Clean Passer Rtg (108.5)
3rd Adj Comp % (86.7%)
18th Pressured Passer Rtg (62.4)
17th Adj Comp % (68.0)
3rd Deep Passer Rtg: 135.4

Oh man, can you imagine how dangerous it would be if Taysom is setting up the "Tell" and :05 left in NFC Championship game from the 13 yd line, he gives the "tell" but then takes off on a scramble, out runs edge defenders and trucks the cornerback into the endzone and lifts his baby in the air claiming victory over all yee that praise other.
