Are we in the Twilight Zone?
Teddy Bridgewater deserves much more from this fan base. He’s held down the fort and helped us reach 5-1 and we still have these threads. Taysom is exactly what we see. He’s an athlete that can play QB in a pinch. He’s a gadget QB and that’s it. A remarkable athlete that SP is able to utilize to his full abilities. With any other team, we would never have even heard of Hill.
'Elevates the players around him' has become the new 'High motor, lunch pail kind of player' it seems.I dont know why but when I think of taysom hill I think of a guy that is a winner and can make things happen and elevate and really the team around him. Ae saw this during pre season.
I dont see that in teddy. If teddy had that elevate the team around you vibe I would totally be more on board with teddy. Taysom is a animal. I just see good things coming from him in the nfl..
I think he'll have more of a choice where he plays because if Drew and Teddy are both Saints next year I think it's less likely that the Saints match an excessive offer from another team for Taysom. If Teddy moves on I think the Saints will try extra hard to match any offers for Taysom.I honestly don't get why people keep talking about Taysom having a choice about where he plays. He's going to be a restricted free agent in 2020, emphasis on restricted.
I think there is some serious overestimating of what a team would offer TH as an RFA, given how little film there is of him playing the role of 'traditional' pro QB. He's an RFA and the only question is what round tender he gets offered.I think he'll have more of a choice where he plays because if Drew and Teddy are both Saints next year I think it's less likely that the Saints match an excessive offer from another team for Taysom. I agree.
What he is known for, and currently is, is a specialist. A Swiss Army knife as the talking heads refer to him. Not as a QB. That means that his value is likely to be slightly more than a top special team player. Plus few teams can use him as CSP does. Coaches and GMs know this.
Saints fans see him as a QB, but most everyone else sees him as that specialist. What we know, but many refuse to acknowledge, is that there is very little film of value on Taysom as a QB. A few plays during regular season where his passing stats are less than stellar (4-8 for 82 yds, 1 int, 1 sack) and a few series in preseason against 3rd string opposition.
That doesn't mean he doesn't have potential (I think he does) but he hasn't been shown enough to make him a player of high value outside of New Orleans.
I like him a lot and think he brings much to the table, but I'm not going to overvalue him either. That's a product of wishful thinking. Not logic.

Highlights as a pro QB - not so much. There's enough highlights on Taysom for an owner to take a gamble. So yeah, he'll get an excessive offer.

TribuneUK is exactly right. There are ample college highlights, but those highlights didn't warrant a pick in the 7 rounds of his draft.Highlights as a pro QB - not so much.

NFL owners need Taysom about as much as a fancy helicopter. Oh wait, they can afford a fancy helicopter. He's the new lure in their tackle box, their new sports car. Very few passing highlights to be seen as a pro. 4 completions during all of his regular season snaps. Everything else is preseason against talent of which very, very few players actually made rosters.
There is no there, there. Again, wishful thinking. No logic involved.
Outside of Jerry Jones, owners don't actually choose their team's players. You know that, right? GM job.NFL owners need Taysom about as much as a fancy helicopter.
