Taysom out per K. Terrell (2 Viewers)

I knew it when it was thrown. That was a very bad decision and one could argue Drew got his teammate injured. This was the worst possible news heading into this game. Tampa will stack everyone within 15yards of the line of scrimmage and keep everything in front. It's going to be a long day.
Could be...

Only time will tell.

LOL. It’s the playoffs. Every inch matters. And if something happens and Taysom slips that tackle, it could be a big play. You take the completion.

And Taysom playing or not won’t change how Tampa lines up their defense. They’ve played that way all season and it’s why they’re prone to giving up the big play. Taysom and Murray being out hurts the running game, but it won’t change Tampa keeping stuff in front of them.

Also, if they want to try, good luck with that. Brees has been throwing deeper with more frequency since he came back. And now we have quite a few guys who can make them pay.

Probably a tougher call when that player is possibly the guy who will be replacing the 42 year old QB you are currently starting.

Would be a shame to shred one of his surgically repaired knees for a few QB power runs.

The NFL today is a much different game in regards to injuries than it used to be - and that’s a good thing.
As usual we really don't know the whole story.

He went to the tent and they checked it out and let him come back, so you would assume they ruled out a tear.

Could be a significant sprain, bruise or such. But sprains can take 4-6 weeks...that does kind of rule out playoffs even for what would be "relatively minor" compared to worst case scenarios.

Knee bruises can be brutal and I don’t believe Taysom wears any knee brace or padding.

So if he got tackled awkwardly and landed on that rock hard Dome turf, he could have gotten a bad bone bruise.

So what. It does not mean they can't win without him. Saints lost one game with him, so there is that. Him and Murray are not available, get over it. The Saints will adjust. They are resilient.
Saints have been resilient with many other players out as well. But the fact Hill and Murray are integral parts to this offense and the fact it is a playoff game, bring this to the forefront. Nothing wrong about it. So why such a salty attitude?

Honestly not a big loss today at all. Would be a big loss against GB if he wasn’t able to go.
Why? He has played well against TB both times and we can use any advantage against that front.

Saints lose a lot of physicality with the Murray & Taysom loss.

I"d expect to see a lot of double TE and/or extra OL sets today out of the saints for added muscle

Wouldn't be surprised if Winston came in today in a 4WR set on a shot play vs that secondary

And essentially give the play away? No shot! Where as with Hill coning in, the defense would have zero clue, as to what is about to come. Jamies only coming in for one thing and one thing only. And is not to run the RPO, as an example. Winston; non factor today unless god forbid. I will not mention it.

Sean will throw it 50 times today.

Probably, haha.

And you know what? That may actually be a good thing against this D. Atlanta picked them apart passing the ball. It could be a great chance for the O to find some rhythm heading to the NFCCG.

If we lose, we lose. But our ceiling may be higher if this turns into our “get right” week on offense.

The answer is always in the trenches.

If the OL gets push and plays physical itself at the point of attack, Kamara will get the ground yards.

Will help some to spread them out, but we HAVE to stay with the run and keep the play action effective so Drew has some time to do more than slants and screens. But in the end this is football and it's about beating your opponent at the LOS. Payton's game plans don't often emphasize that and often just seem to evade it but if the OL plays good football the offense will be fine. If it does not, even with Murray or Hill, it is going to look like the first half of the Bears game.

Totally agree. We need to face Tampa's #1 run defense straight up and win this battle. The playoff games won yesterday were won in the trenches. I suspect today will be no different. We need a big performance from our OL today.
