Well lets wait and see. He'll either crush it or he won't.
To be honest we all know what he can be when running the ball but none of us know if he can beat any team throwing the ball........................and he'll have to throw a few more passes till we know for sure.
I truly hope that he proves me wrong but I am not very optimistic.
I am happy he is getting the chance as we need to know what his ceiling is for next year. The unknown for me is how he will do in the passing game with his reads and accuracy. We know he can run and get chunks of yards but we will still need a decent passing game to keep the Falcons from crowding the line of scrimmage.
Taysom as the starter will look different than him in his joker role. People want to extrapolate that role but I've seen him play a different game when he is the starting QB. I don't know if it will be good or bad (I've only seen it in pre-season after all). I'm excited by the unknown but I do not expect it to be limited to what we've seen on Sundays. Those plays will be there but for the large part, I think he will distribute the ball as you'd expect in a west coast offense.
Here's a stat to show what I mean.
59 Pass Attempts; 18 rushes
2019-2020 Regular Season
11 Pass Attempts; 61 rushes
I would be excited for either guy and I am certainly excited to see what Taysom can do with a full game plan like any other true Saints fan, but a big part of me still halfway expects to see Jameis trot out there because Sean is a gangster.
I cannot help myself but to think of that old movie naked gun 2 or 2 1/2 when the captain wanted to duke it out with the bad guy....a few minutes later they stopped the fight and the bad guy won the fight and knocked the captain out....
Fast forward to tomorrow...we all have high hopes for Taysom to do good....but there is a good chance that after a few series, Sean Payton throws in the towel, and will replace Taysom after he throws 2-3 picks...
I hope that never happens...but you just never know...
