I think one of the handful of things Ruiz (and Peat) really needed was exactly what Penning brings in terms of demeanor and that us vs you mentality. While Penning needs to tone that down in camp, Ruiz needed to amp it up. I hope this whole OL turns up the intensity.

I might have just missed them, but I don't recall Marrone commenting on much of anything.

A dogged mentality is what was missing from the line. Hopefully Penning brings to the line what Ceedy brought to the defense.

Its no coincidence that the last two years the Saints have had the best defense in 30 almost 30 years. When Ceedy was out it also was no coincidence the defense took a step back.

I honestly think that Ruiz is part of the reason the personality of Penning was drafted.
