It’s easy to forget when your team’s oldest player is 40, that there are other players who have been around the NFL for a pretty long time on your roster as well. Ted Ginn Jr. is the second oldest Saint behind Drew Brees. At 34-years old, that still doesn’t seem so bad unless your chosen profession relies on speed.

Of course, age is relative in today’s NFL. Drew Brees is proving that. He and Tom Brady continue their war over who will last longest and there isn’t a clear winner in sight. Both have taken their teams to the playoffs. One is in a horribly weak division and has the supporting cast every year to take it all the way with the occasional help of things like a creative A/V squad or eager to help ball boys.

Appearing on NFL Network’s Good Morning Football this morning, Tuesday, May 14, Ginn Jr. talked about his time in the NFL and how he’s training these days to keep himself young. The training method is a mix of things but much of it comes from teammate Alvin Kamara. The use of things like strobing eyeglasses, rubber balls to stand on to maintain balance, these are the new tools designed to keep a player like Ginn Jr. on the field at age 34 and, hopefully much longer.
