The New Orleans Saints have their backup.


On Thursday, reserve quarterback Teddy Bridgewater decided to re-sign with the Saints, according to a report from ESPN’s Dianna Russini.


Bridgewater’s decision comes after he took a free agent visit with the Miami Dolphins on Wednesday evening, but in the end the quarterback decided to stay in New Orleans.


Moments before the report emerged, Bridgewater tweeted, “13 years later, I’m trying to see if history will repeat itself in my favor at some point.”


The 13 years in question being the anniversary of Drew Brees signing with the Saints.
