Every time I've seen Texas play the last couple of seasons, i felt like LSU dodged a bullet when Herman and his agent tried to play the bidding war game. It sure worked out right for us not getting the guy we wanted and "settling" for Coach O. A lot of people were furious at Joe Alleva for taking offense and ending negotiations when they did that, but he made the right choice to jettison the guy who wanted the money and instead hiring the guy who wanted the job.
