Texas father and son allegedly killed neighbor over mattress in trash bin: video released


Two men were arrested in Texas after they allegedly shot and killed a man over a dispute about garbage in an alleyway and a newly released video shows the deadly encounter.


John Miller, 67, and his son, 31-year-old Michael Miller, were arrested after Aaron Howard, 37, was fatally shot on Sept. 1, the Abilene Police Department announced.
The neighbors had been arguing about the trash in the alleyway for days before the fatal shooting, police said. The day of Howard's death, John Miller had gone to throw the garbage out before the situation escalated.

Police said the elder Miller had a handgun, and the younger Miller went inside his home to get a shotgun. "Someone reportedly went inside the deceased's residence to get a baseball bat," but ultimately Howard was killed.
Howard's fiancee, Kara Box, filmed the heated encounter and released it to local news outlets because, as she told KTXS-TV, "People deserve to know what actually happened and you know they deserve to know John and Michael Miller are murderers."

It shows the argument, but it does not actually show the man being shot. Its horrible hearing this wife screaming....... This one really bothers me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't take a gun and a poor intellect to the stupidest argument ever.
 
This is why these stand your ground laws have to go. These idiots are going to use it as their defense because in their warped sense of the law, felt like they had the ability to shoot someone if they "come within 3 feet of" them. Truth be told, the dead guy is partially in the wrong here as well, but talking crap and making threats to someone brandishing a gun definitely shouldn't be punishable by "Death by Trailer Trash". Cooler heads need to prevail.

Dad should get charged w/ 1st maybe 2nd degree Murder. Shotgun Jr. should get charged w/ capital murder. We'll see how this plays out.

Also, how are we the most powerful, most advanced, nation on earth when its filled with dumforks like this? Prayers up for the wife...This country sucks.

The victim was an idiot though. Why in the hell would you argue with two guys with a shotgun and a pistol. He escalated that argument and not only did he put himself in that situation, he put his wife in it too. She could have been shot and killed too. All over a damn matress.

If you wanna argue, then fine. But do not argue with someone who has a gun and is threatening to kill you! Get the hell away!

I agree. None of these people were using any good judgment whatsoever. Standing there with a gun, accidents happen. But nobody expected cold blood.
