We are now 2 games ahead of San Antonio, Houston, and LA!

All four teams have 4 games left and we have the tie breaker over all three teams. So we could clinch the 1 seed Friday with a win over the Lakers and a Rockets loss and a Spurs loss(to Seattle...).
We could also clinch the 1 seed with a win over both LAL and Sacramento regardless of what the other teams do...

Remaining schedules:
New Orleans:
@ Los Angeles Lakers
@ Sacramento Kings
Los Angeles Clippers
@ Dallas Mavericks

Los Angeles Lakers: (All remaining games in the Staples Center)
@ Los Angeles Clippers
New Orleans Hornets
San Antonio Spurs
Sacramento Kings

San Antonio Spurs:
Seattle Supersonics
@ Los Angeles Lakers
@ Sacramento Kings
Utah Jazz

Houston Rockets:
Phoenix Suns
@ Denver Rockets
@ Utah Jazz
Los Angeles Clippers

So does that mean if Lakers beat Spurs and we beat Lakers, we're in no matter what?

Worst case scenario happened tonight....

Hornets lost, Lakers won, Spurs won, and rockets won.

The Hornets now need to be flawless down the stretch to hang on to the one seed. The Lakers now have the tiebreaker over the Hornets by virtue of conference record.

The Kings seem to be the key to 1 seed. Their remaining games against the Hornets, Lakers, and Spurs will likely decide seeding. The Lakers seem to struggle against lesser teams at home. The Hornets need to handle business after that demanding game today.

If the Hornets win tomorrow, they will be 1 game ahead of the Lakers and 1.5 games ahead of the Spurs and Rockets.

The Spurs and Lakers play on Sunday. This game is HUGE! If the Lakers win, they are 0.5 games behind the Hornets and put all the pressure on the Hornets winning their last 2 games, but the Hornets will have clinched the Southwest division. If the Spurs win, then the Lakers would be 1.5 games behind the Hornets and virtually out of contention for the 1st seed and the Spurs would be 1 game behind us(well really 1.5 with the tiebreaker). So Go Spurs!

The Rockets play in Denver on Sunday. If the Nuggets pull it off, they clinch the 8 seed and the Rockets are basically out of the running for a top 4 spot. If the Rockets win and the Spurs lose, then the Rockets move up to the 3rd seed and would be a game behind the Hornets for the 1 seed(1.5 by virtue of tiebreaker).

On Monday, the Hornets can virtually clinch the southwest if the Spurs and Rockets lose to the Kings and Jazz respectively. And a Kings win over the Lakers on Tuesday would clinch the 1 seed(if they lost to the Spurs on Sunday).

If the Lakers win both of their remaining games, then the Hornets would need to go 3-0 to take the 1 seed. If the Lakers lose 1 game, then the Hornets need to go 2-1. And 1-2 if the Lakers lose both. We still control our own destiny, but the magic number is three games.
