WEEK 1

COLTS 41, SAINTS 10

Sept. 6, 2007, at the RCA Dome

David gave up three touchdown passes by Manning, a 27-yarder to Marvin Harrison, and two to New Orleans-native Reggie Wayne, a 28-yarder and a 45-yarder, as the defending Super Bowl champions embarrassed the team many pundits had picked to represent the NFC in Super Bowl XLII, and who some had picked to be the 2007 NFL champions. The Saints and Colts were tied at 10 at halftime, but Manning and the Colts blew the game open in the second half. Manning led Indianapolis to two scoring drives in the first 8:49 of the second half as the Colts scored 24 points within 20 minutes after halftime. The Saints were completely overmatched, a portent to things to come. Full Story – Picayune
