This weekend we are hosting the Broncos in our 9th game of the season.

Let's take a look back at the eerily similar path from the past two years.

2014:
After starting 2-4...we pull off 2 of the most impressive wins of the season.
W 44-23 A drubbing of the Packers in the Dome.
W 28-10 Thursday night in carolina, we controlled clock and ball all game.

After climbing back to 4-4, feeling great with ourselves, we come home for the crossroads game.

Hosting SF. We allow Kaepernick to get free on a 4th and forever, heaving a ball behind us for a 1st down, and they tie it up very late.
Drew hits Jimmy for the W on a Hail Mary, only to get called for an offensive PI ON A HAIL MARY!!! SF wins in OT, we lost 3 in a row at home, season over.

2015:
After starting 0-3, we turn it on, culminated in Drew DRUBBING the Giants with 52 points, to reach 4-4.

Enter the hapless Titans to the Dome as we prepare for the ever important 9th/crossroads game.

We start fast, scoring and stopping them, when Mariotta floats a desperate pass that BOTH Byrd and KLewis have picked, and probably would have led to another NOS TD and a 21-3 lead....essentially game over.
Then it happens...they both get in each others way, the ball tips right into Delanie Walker's hands, TD Titans, 14-10, change of momentum.......Titans W. We proceed to lost the next 3 as well, 4-8, season over.

2016:
Crossroads game, world champ Broncos entering the Dome.
Time to change the trend.

And 2012 wasn't much different.....started 0-4.....before getting hot and squaring it up at 5-5 by spanking the raiders on the west coast.

Coming home and feeling good, the 49ers beat us, and we proceeded to lose the next 2 as well, 5-8, season over.

Same thing in 2007. The curse of the 4-4.

And 2012 wasn't much different.....started 0-4.....before getting hot and squaring it up at 5-5 by spanking the raiders on the west coast.

Coming home and feeling good, the 49ers beat us, and we proceeded to lose the next 2 as well, 5-8, season over.

2007 as well. 0-4. Four game win streak to even up to 4-4. Blown out, at home, in the 9th game by an 0-8 Rams team. Season derailed from there.

Enter 2016 -- We pull to 4-4 with a great win on the West Coast, against the 49ers. We then beat the defending Super Bowl champions in our house, and travel to defeat the Super Bowl runner up just 4 days later. Feeling great about ourselves, and once again getting a taste of what it feels like to be winners, we don't lose another game, and go on to be the unlikely winner of Super Bowl LI!

Me and my buddies were all talking yesterday about the 4-4 curse. We always seems to fight our way to 4-4 and then the wheels fall off. Hopefully this is the year we break the curse.

5-5. 1-2 on the road, 4-3 at home. with 4 of the 5 losses coming within on score. hope we have a 2010/2013 type game sunday.
