I don't know about that. Setting someone up to expose them for the fraud that they are on national TV, that's not exactly polite

James Randi was on TV a lot in the late '70s and early '80s, most often on The Tonight Show. Randi also made a famous appearance on That's My Line during Bob Barker's tenure as host, exposing purported psychic/telekineticist James Hydrick:
