The Athletic's Vic Tafur is one stubborn son-of-a-gun (1 Viewer)

I'll write Week 12 for him:

Falcons at Saints (-6.5) — The Eagles are obviously in Super Bowl hangover. The Falcons will want revenge against the Saints and will have Calvin Ridley ready for a career day. Falcons

Every sports bettor has made that mistake before. You see a team on a long ATS win streak and you think "this can't last, it's the NFL." Then you see a line that looks decent and you go for it. You lose and then the next week, you talk yourself into "this finally being the week" you call it right. Rinse and repeat.

Before you know it, you've lost 4-5 straight betting against a single team. That's a mistake you don't make again. There are simply too many other games to bet to chase a rabbit like that.

It is like a multiple choice test where you have selected "C" three times in a row. You believe that the next question's answer is "C" as well, but you talk yourself out of it because there wouldn't be 4 "C's" in a row.

As we all know,
1. The Saints defense is terrible.
2. Drew Brees's skills are declining, and his arm strength never was adequate. And besides, he's less than 6'4".
3. The Saints can't win away from the Superdome, especially when the temperature dips below 70 degrees.
4. The Saints don't play in the NFC East and therefore can't be any good.
5. They have a hangover from the "Minnesota Miracle."
6. They have a cupcake schedule.

Every noob sports bettor you mean. Most of us that's been around know, almost every year, there are a few teams each year you just ride. They just get into a zone. More true in college, but happens in the pros as well.

For every Deuce Windham there's a Vic Tafur. Check out "Vic's Picks" (note that these are against the spread). Who's to let a six-game losing streak change your view!
