Yeah, I dont see either of them being significantly better than the backups at those positions, either. Maybe (MAYBE) Griffen gives you a better game or two in spurts, but not at what you're going to pay for him as a veteran pass rusher. Plus, you're not going to sign him with a backup role in mind.You're missing my point. My point is that Griffen & Apple are the 2 best players left at their positions in the FA market that could come in and back up those positions in case of injury. I'm not thinking along the lines of them being starters, just insurance in case of injuries.
Apple is not a better option than PJ, CJGJ, Patrick, etc. He's had two years to improve and he regressed. If you need him to play, the Saints are better off tanking for a high draft pick.
