Besides the color Ivory going perfect with the Black & Gold, Chris is also finding his niche in the Saint's offense. Sean Payton has been great at taking players and finding how to use their strengths in his offense. No one player is above the team and everyone gets their opportunities. With that being said, the Saints roster is crowded with talent because Sean knows how to find these players and get the best out of everybody.
There has been some noise about Pierre Thomas not being happy about his contract and is seeking more "appreciation" for his services. This happens sometimes with the best teams and their players, especially when others are awarded huge contracts. I agree that he should be getting paid more than his previous contract, but I don't think it should be anywhere near Reggie Bush money. I'm not even sure Reggie Bush should be getting Reggie Bush money when it's time to negotiate his next contract.
With that being said, Pierre Thomas is a valuable asset and I hope the contract gets worked out. But in either scenario, I am happy to see Ivory becoming more developed so early on in his rookie season. As a first year player undrafter out oof college and playing for the Super Bowl defending champions, a lot of pressure has been put on his shoulders. And he has responded very well. I love his effort and tenacity. The man is a beast. He showed he was ready to be part of this offense with this preseason run:

In one play, he showed power, speed, elusiveness, agility, and beast mode! And given his opportunities since, he still seems to be giving it his all on very down.
When healthy, the Saint backfield is a crowded one. If all RB's return healthy next year, there could be some difficult decisions with Bush, Thomas, Ivory, Lynell Hamilton, Julius Jones, and Ladell Betts. It's certainly a star studded backfield if I've ever seen one.
As a fan, I hope that Ivory has secured his place in our offense and look forward to him developing even more, learning to adapt to screen plays, and running short routes to open up more pass plays.
Here's to the Black, the Gold, and the Ivory!
