Looks like it should be fun after seeing what Seth Rogen did w/ Preacher...

The first trailer for Amazon’s The Boys showcases the upcoming series’ violence and sexuality. These heroes aren’t going to save the world anytime soon.

Based on the Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson comic book series of the same name, The Boys takes place in a world where superheroes exist — but because of their high-profile celebrity status, most of the world’s superheroes, particularly an elite group known as “The Seven,” are corrupt and reckless. Thus, a secret CIA task force known as “The Boys” is in charge of policing superhero behavior, something they must do without any super powers.

A film version of The Boys was optioned in 2008, but by 2013, the project was canceled. The Amazon series will be its first on-screen adaptation, and is produced by the team behind Sausage Party (Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg) and the creator of Supernatural (Eric Kripke). Starring Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, Elizabeth Shue as Madelyn Stillwall, and Karen Fukuhara as The Female, The Boys premieres on Amazon on July 26.

3 episodes in and I have to head to DFW for work. I honestly don't know how I was able to shut the TV off and go to sleep last night. I also don't know if I can wait 2 days today finish it.

4 episodes in. I started it at midnight, planning to watch the first episode then get some sleep, but I couldn't stop myself. I'm a little tired now.

My perfect mix is dark comedy with dark drama.

This has delivered so far.

Nice to see Elizabeth Shue too.

I'm a Marvel movie fan but I enjoyed the criticism of the Superhero machine.

I hope they have the bells to continue to criticize the passive couch potato(and I'm guilty of it at times)mentality.

The Homelander = 3/4 Captain America, 1/4 Superman.

Queen Maeve = Wonder Woman powerless under The Homelander's(Superman's) boot.

The Deep = an insignificant(Aquaman) joke. I hope he dies a horrible death for the rape.

Had no dea Simon Pegg was going to show up and then it was like ‘of course he he be here’
In the comic Wee Hughie was modeled to look like Pegg. Lots wanted him for the lead in this show but he had kind of aged out of the role by that point, as the comic started like 13 years ago.

Now that's a season finale...
Not gonna lie, but Butcher using the baby supe to take out those baddies was easily the funniest moment of the season besides the dolphin asking the Deep to touch it's weinus...
