Looks like it should be fun after seeing what Seth Rogen did w/ Preacher...

The first trailer for Amazon’s The Boys showcases the upcoming series’ violence and sexuality. These heroes aren’t going to save the world anytime soon.

Based on the Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson comic book series of the same name, The Boys takes place in a world where superheroes exist — but because of their high-profile celebrity status, most of the world’s superheroes, particularly an elite group known as “The Seven,” are corrupt and reckless. Thus, a secret CIA task force known as “The Boys” is in charge of policing superhero behavior, something they must do without any super powers.

A film version of The Boys was optioned in 2008, but by 2013, the project was canceled. The Amazon series will be its first on-screen adaptation, and is produced by the team behind Sausage Party (Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg) and the creator of Supernatural (Eric Kripke). Starring Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, Elizabeth Shue as Madelyn Stillwall, and Karen Fukuhara as The Female, The Boys premieres on Amazon on July 26.

Does anyone here know enough German to translate Stormfront's little speech?
I didn't translate, but I found a site that had it. Seems she was reminiscing:

It was beautiful. How we sat there under the shadow of the apple trees. Do you remember that day, Frederick? Chloe put her arm outside of the car's window. We found a perfect spot next to the river under the shadow of the apple trees. It was the first time that Chloe had eaten (ate) a fresh apple. I was so happy, it was wonderful. I wished that it would never end

I’m posting from my phone without reading the thread lately. Because of Delta I haven’t had a chance to watch the season finale. Got electricity back last night but internet with Cox is still down. It’s killing me.

So, is it just me or is Congresswoman Victoria Neuman supposed to be a stand in for AOC? The anti-corporate campaign certainly suggests that. But, I wonder if they are going to go with the idea that she is a Supe that is fighting corporations and pushing against Capitalism or if she is outwardly against corporations but secretly a tool or the corporations?

It would be an intersting twist if this season was about the evil fascists with next season being about the evil socialists. Or it could just be a continuation of the evil corporations controlling the government with a covert agent in Neuman.

I'm sure it's not a coincidence that you're drawing that comparison, I've been thinking about the similarities since the character first appeared.

Nothing in this show is a coincidence. They have this unique ability to be obvious and subtle all at the same time.

seems very intentional - and it let them get away with a lot - instinctively we knew that 'no way are they going to do something 'bad' to a setting Congressperson - so i think we subconsciously took her off the board as a pawn in the drama and that's why the punch landed so well
i also think it's a setup for next season - so they did a big take down of right wing politics this season, i can almost bet they are hoping/anticipating the election goes a particular direction so they can take big swings at left wing populism next season. and i'll have to be a big boy about it

That's what I was thinking. Next season is going to be taking shots at left wing populism instead of taking shots at right wing populism like they did this season. That would be the most interesting direction for them to go to IMO. The other option is to make her a right wing plant in the left wing populist movement, but that would be far less interesting to me.
