A few of you younger WhoDats don't know what it's like to have the Saints get your hopes up... only for them to let you down. But if that wasn't enough, then you'd have to face the next several days (where you don't want to watch NFL highlights & commentary) because of the "talking heads" saying how much the Black & Gold choked.

It was fitting for the game to be on Thanksgiving day. Yes, I have a lot to be thankful for. And when it comes down to it, the NFL is not the most important thing in life. I certainly thank God for all he has allowed to come my way. :worthy:

That said, I'm very glad that we don't have to face sports broadcasts showing replay-after-replay of how the Cowboys are on a roll, and PROVED THEY WERE A BETTER TEAM THAN THE SAINTS. :covri:

No, that's not the case.

Again, this day feels a lot better (after a Saints' comeback) than what used to be a common thing: A disappointing Saints' loss. And under Payton & Loomis (for the most part), those moments are a distant memory!

WhoDat, baby! :0040:

I do remember those days. Almost had a flashback yesterday. Yet this is a new day and a new team.

Thank you.

A friend while watching the game yesterday commented as we lost the lead, "The Saints just always find a way to lose." I had to respond, "What hole were you hiding in last year?"
I'm loving these new times.

It's no surprise that some of the more 'cautious' posters on the SSF are the older members since they have a memory bank full of disappointing moments and finishes to remind them that NO VICTORY ever comes easy.

I almost feel sorry for new Saints fans since there is absolutely no way they can appreciate what long time Saints fans have had to deal with to get to the glory days we've been experiencing recently.

It took real pride and love to support the Saints prior to 1987. We were teased a LOT up until Katrina. And we became rewarded for our loyalty ever since!

Our past has made our present oh so sweet! :9:

Yup, for the youngsters... this A'int your Daddy's Saints, but yesterday you got a small taste of it, somewhat. Don't let the winning spoil you, wouldn't want ya turning into a CowGIRLS' fan. WHO DAT!!

Agree - Even though I have complete faith in our boys, old habits are hard to break and I get a knot in my stomach during games like the one yesterday.

I am just grateful that the Saints won. The manner in which they won just topped off a fantastic holiday. :17:

well as recently as 2008, the SAints showed exactly the same kind of heartbreaking last minute losses as they did before. Only it came inconsistently and sometimes they really looked great. They were like the TExans are now. Unbelievable offense and NO DEFENSE WHATSOEVER.
If our offense wasnt turning the ball over this year, we'd be blowing teams out left and right.
