Yeah, I wouldn't touch a Tesla, new or used, right now. That said, I also think that 20% drop is due in part to the softening used car market which has been dropping a bit as well.

Yeah - a little of column A, a little of column B.

The article stated that overall used car mkt has dropped 4% over that 20% for Tesla.

I think it's more to do with more competition. Why am I going to drop 60K on a used Tesla when I can pick up a new one at a competitor for less?

I think there are quite a few factors against buying a used Tesla - definitely the range of competition is a big one.

I posted earlier in this thread that I bought the EV6 GT Line. Great car, never an issue.... Accept this:.

My work took out the level 2 chargers due to a construction project. Losing those complicated my life a little. I could still charge at home but not many options near me for level 3. I commute up and down the North East coast area and despite how populated this area of the country is, I found that locating chargers that actually fit my car wasn't always convenient.

I opted to trade it in for a gas car because I had a couple too many charging headaches. Either I would find the wrong charger type, my charger would refuse to disconnect, or I would add significant commuting times because I would have to go out of my way to charge it.

I wish the infrastructure was better.

This is why neither my wife or I bought an electric vehicle when we bought our 2 at the beginning of the year. Infrastructure just isn’t there yet. I’m not opposed to EV, but for us how we use our vehicles I’ll stay gas for a while

Tesla's charging network and its reliability and ease of use was one of the primary reasons I chose to go with the Model 3. It also helps that my wife has a hybrid vehicle giving us that option for long road trips.

It will get better - but yeah we’re not to the point where a person or a family can have EV exclusively, it’s still a local use thing. You still have to have access to a gas vehicle for road trips.
