*this is Dennis Allens first year as sole DC, we haven't seen his best yet
*the D is very young and will grow throughout the season
*we get Rankins back this year
*he Thomas and Bell look absolutely legit.
*peat is finally in a permanent spot, judgment before this is too early
*both lines and the LBs haven't had time to gel yet, it will improve
*Fairley looks like he's finally gonna fulfill his potential, on our team
*Cooks is entering the breakout 3rd year
*spiller is healthy
*byrd is healthy
*we have one of the best cornerbacks in the league
*we have one of the best quarterbacks in the league
*sean Payton has decided he is in nola for good, he's all in

This is NOT the last few seasons. This is newness. What we're seeing are growing pains. I actually called that we would be really bad last year. This year we're gonna be pretty good, playoff good.

Bravo to the OP. The thread title alone put me in a <s>good</s> better mood, and made me want to see what was cooking on their post.

One intangible that we shouldn't overlook is how well teams play vs. OLD teams of their current coach.

DA's players will probably kick it up a notch or two on D.

Thank you. Your perspective is refreshing to read. I'm tired of reading negative posts all day.

Great post by the OP...and this is coming from a fan with very little hope this season. I want to believe, I really do...

Not only does Spiller look healthy, he's looking like he's ready to do serious damage. He's got all of his gears back.

Our LB corp may not have that one amazing guy, per se, but we've got a lot of depth now. Craig Robertson gives me a really good vibe too. And I like Mauti's fire.

I needed this post man. I started a thread about us needing QB pressure ASAP and I was really just looking for some reassurance. This was well thought out and not just one of those overly negative or positive threads started just for kicks and giggles. Thanks!!:9:

There's just something about Robertson that I like.

I ain't gonna lie, when I first read the title of this thread I figured the OP would either ironic/sarcastic or would be about the poster being sold discount car insurance by a lizard.

Pleasantly surprised to be wrong.

Man, he really does look good.

And the best part, is that we haven't really used him in the type of plays that are designed for his skill set. We've done a few screens and dumpoff pleases, but he will be used as a mismatch guy, and you don't show those tricky plays in preseason.

That in addition to having that twitch back... I'm really excited to see what he does this season.

Dont forget a healthy Ellerbe too! Dude's had a very good preseason!

I like Robertson too, doesn't he have experience playing MLB? If JL falls off maybe he can step in there. Just want to see him start at some point.
