I have an old Jackson that I love. It got flooded during Sally a few weeks ago along with an old Ampeg 2x12. When I went to sleep that night they said it was going to be a Cat 1 and hit 100 miles west of here. 5am I had 2' of water downstairs and they both got wet. I've cleaned them with fresh water and wiped down with corrosionx and I put them and a bunch of other stuff in a storage room with a little dehumidifier for weeks. I haven't had the nerve to try either.

Damn, you and Complex Kid should compare notes. But I don’t think you should even consider firing them up until you’re sure they’re as dry as they’re going to get.

Any tech out there?

O.k., so before I blow up my guitar amp. .........

Anyone ever try to go from P.A. output to guitar amp input?

It sounds dangerous.

One of the best sounding amps I've ever heard was a small band playing an ampeg through a PA system. That thing sounded wicked. Would like one of those or any messa boogie amp. I have a crate with 4x10 cabinet that I've had for years and while it's ok it's definitely not what I'd prefer to play.

Without doing a lick of research, the fact that it’s a partnership with Epiphone, as well as that it’s at an ‘accessible’ price point- would lead me to believe that the answer is China.

I was wondering about it because Epiphone Masterbilt guitars are done by Gibson in Montana.
I would be very happy if these were at least like the Elitist series, which were all made in Japan. Those were even better than Gibsons and are extremely valuable now. Everytime I see a used Epiphone at a garage sale, I check to see if it is an Elitist.

When I was in my last band, that Ampeg was mic'd up and run through the PA. I've had it since about 1990 and I bought it from a guy whose name I can't recall anymore, but some here might remember the name Dino Lee. Dino was a nut. He coined himself the King of White Trash and had a big ensemble he called the White Trash Review. It was some odd punk, funk, crooner combination suited for porno more than anything, but it was fun. My girlfriend played drums with the guys and danced in their show a couple of times.

It was a wild place back then. Kids today have no idea what their parents did. Anyway, I've had that room at around 40% humidity for a month. I'll probably plug in both this weekend and see what happens.

Juse bought an acoustic and trying to learn. Are there exercises to limber up the fingers?

That is one fine looking Telecaster (ah, I see it is actually a Squire)....looks like a similar model my guitar hero (Steve Morse) played in his early days with the Dregs....

It's a Squire but it was used by a guy I know in his local band and sounds reaaaaaaaaaaally nice. Some day I'll save up to get a Fender maybe if we can manage to avoid hurricanes this season I can get myself a nice Christmas present :hihi:

Suggest starting with learning some simple scales, the A scale is one I used to warm up with....as a beginner it can be frustrating, but once you get the hang it is incredibly satisfying....Good luck with it....
