I just saw on the WC that tomorrow from Western La. to South Carolina, their will be a severe line of showers, some baseball size hail and thunderstorms in this area starting about mid day Friday where you guys live in La. and then moving in to Alabama and Georgia later tomorrow night. so it you live in the Gulf South, be careful and if you have to go anywhere Friday be safe and stay cautious.

The storm system is in Texas and Oklahoma right now so its moving fairly quickly.

Just letting you guys know and giving a heads up.

Thank you.

those storms passed thru the pacific northest on Monday and Tuesday. They left snow and quarter inch hail here. I'd imagine they would be pretty intense when they hit that warm gulf air.

They're at College Station in Texas right now. I'm actually excited. I love it when it rains and I'm at home after work. I sit back drink a beverage and enjoy the sound of the rain while I strum my acoustic.

My mother-in-law is driving here (Biloxi) from South Carolina on Saturday/Sunday. Should I tell her to wait an extra day or two... or not? :idunno:

tell her to be careful, billimns. It is her decision to come down or not, but if you can get a hold of her, just let her know that some bad weather is on the way in her direction. I thought I heard the bad weather may be gone by Saturday, so take it as it comes

It just stoppped raining here at Barksdale. There may be a little more, but not much judging by the KTBS radar return.

Power is out here. We just got hit with a couple wind gusts between 80-90 mph. Lot of damage in the Byram, Ms area from trees falling on houses including two seperate family members.

Damn- I was hoping this would pass by without incident. Sorry to here about your family

On a lighter note, any chance of this getting by Baton Rouge by 7 PM so the LSU baseball game can be played?

Yeah, didn't think it would be that bad today unless supercells could fire up in front of the line. The instability and shear was prime for severe weather but the wind profiles didn't look incredible for straight line damage.

As for the LSU game, doubtful but it could stay to the North.

Yeah, some tornado reports are coming in from the Madison and Ridgeland areas. I'm doubtful there were more than one tornado and I think most are confusing 100mph straight line winds (actual reported wind gust from airport) with a tornado.

Business is suddenly booming. Many, many people had there car windows busted out while driving or parked at Dogwood Mall on Lakeland.
