All these sports betting ads are designed to encourage people to bet on sports. Duh. Is it any wonder we're seeing scandals? Why would players not be betting just like everyone else?

With our bad luck, some of our guys get caught up in the round up. Easy way for a good roster to get wrecked.

All these sports betting ads are designed to encourage people to bet on sports. Duh. Is it any wonder we're seeing scandals? Why would players not be betting just like everyone else?

The players and league employees are told flat out that they are not to bet on any NFL game or function (draft, practices, or combine). They are also informed that while they can bet on other sporting events they can not do so while in a team or league facility which also includes traveling with the team.

Players who are dumb enough to get caught violating the rule deserve the suspension and I wouldn't be against a team voiding the player contract under the Conduct Detrimental clause in their contracts.

Hmmm, let's see, which Saints players are we as a fanbase most excited about adding to the team? That's where I'd expect the punitive suspensions* to start....

* By which I mean, of course, Goodell protecting the 'integrity of the game'
