...is Payton's player personnel decisions, draft choices and F/A's both. No argument on his actual coaching. Add on, the insane and ridiculous contracts Loomis has negotiated. This is where we are today; horrible!

Anyone want to know why the Pats are so successful? 1) They draft well (more SEC players on their roster than ANY other NFL team. Saints have how many SEC players? 2) PATS only sign FA's to one year deals; period!

Argue all you want, but all I have is facts.

The scouting was bad for a few years and they missed on alot of draft picks. I think they felt like they had to compensate for that by bringing in free agents. Galette was just an outlier. There had to have been signs that he would do something stupid, but it is what it is.

Also forcing Rob to run a scheme that wasn't his was probably a bad idea. Hopefully they can overcome the mistakes of the past and field a competitive team at some point soon.

It's a shame to hold Drew back, one of the best ever with these historically bad defenses.

So that's it.

Just draft SEC players and sign players to only one year deals somehow and we are the Patriots?

Quick, someone get this info over to the Browns.

Loomis acquires the players Payton asks for, I would wager and does what he needs to do to set them signed.

The coaching extends to the defense and the special teams, so actually PLENTY of coaching issues impacting 2/3 of the game. As poster above noted, Payton leaned on Rob Ryan to run a particular scheme. Dysfunction.

The reason this team is where it is at now.

P.j. williams-i.r.
Kyle wilson-i.r.
Swann-i.r.
Lewis- released not able to get back into shape
Breaux- injured
Rankins- ir
Kikaha- ir

You have over half of a starting defense on ir or not with us due to injury. There is only so much talent on the street to sign. You won't find a Revis or watt or Keuchley on the street to sign in the season. You just have to do what you can with the talent you have and/or can sign.

95% of what is wrong is JG ended being a cancer at the worst possible time. If he'd mature and still was here. Our year would of started off much different.

You shouldn't really compare the Saints to the Patriots. They are on a whole different level than every team in the NFL.

While that's true, it doesn't explain our anemic pass rush. If we had one our DBs would look better.

How does having a pass rush specialist and a penetrating 3-Tech on IR not explain our anemic pass rush. Both were slated in as starters in camp. I'd say that having two of your starting pass rushers on IR would have a pretty decent effect on the pass rush.

And let's not pretend like the pass rush wasn't much improved after half time adjustments were made against the Chargers. We were living in the backfield in the second half.
