Whew...looks like we have 2,760 more years....

This is confirmed by a date from Palenque, which projects forward in time to 1.0.0.0.0.0, which will occur on October 13, 4772 (a Friday). The Classic Period Maya likely did not believe that the end of this age would occur in 2012. According to the Maya, there will be a baktun ending in 2012, a significant event being the end of a 13th 400 year period, but not the end of the world.

Do some research (I'm lazy) and google Mayans and former Philles star Darren Daulton. Good stuff. :)
 
According to Dutch, the world will end on Dec. 21, 2012, which is the day on which the Mayan calendar ends. Did the Mayans run out of rock tablets for their calendar or did they know something?

Daulton is certain he knows. "On that day … those who are ready to ascend will vanish from this plane of existence, like the crew of the Enterprise in Star Trek," Daulton was quoted. Wow, beam me up Dutchie!

While most of the world assumes Daulton took one too many pitches high and tight, what if his vision of the "Great Awakening" came from somebody with a little more credibility. I'm thinking Dr. Phil since everybody seems to believe him. What if Dutch and Dr. Phil were right and the party is over in 6½ years?

The end of the 13th b'ak'tun is conjectured to have been of great significance to the Maya, but does not necessarily mark the end of the world according to their beliefs, but a new beginning or time of re-birth. According to the Popol Vuh, a book compiling details of creation accounts known to the Quiché Maya of the colonial-era highlands, we are living in the fourth world. The Popol Vuh describes the first three creations that the gods failed in making and the creation of the successful fourth world where men were placed. The Maya believed that the fourth world would end in catastrophe and the fifth and final world would be created that would signal the end of mankind.

The last creation ended on a long count of 13.0.0.0.0. Another 13.0.0.0.0 will occur on December 21, 2012, and it has been discussed in many New Age articles and books that this will be the end of this creation or something else entirely. However, the Maya abbreviated their long counts to just the last five vigesimal places. There were an infinite number of larger units that were usually not shown. When the larger units were shown (notably on a monument from Coba), the end of the last creation is expressed as 13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.0.0.0.0, where the units are obviously supposed to be 13s in all larger places. In this age we are only approaching 0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.13.0.0.0.0, and the larger places are nowhere near the 13s that would match the end of the last creation. Do a Google search of Darren Daulton and just about anything else and you get some pretty crazy stuff.

Didn't he also say in an interview when asked what he was going to do with the money he responded, "I'll spend half of it on booze, half on fast cars and the other half on fast women." or was it "Ninety percent I'll spend on good times, women, and Irish Whiskey. The other ten percent I'll probably waste."

The household elder would let blood every night. Kings and queens would give much more extreme sacrifices, such as the king would pierce his penis with an obsidian shard or sting ray tail, then drag a rope through the hole to release more blood. The queen would drag a rope of thorns through her tongue. The blood of royalty would be collected on strips of paper or bark, and then burned. In the smoke one could supposedly see the gods and their bidding would be revealed. This is how war* was declared, crops were planted or temples were erected. The greatest sacrifice was to have your heart removed.

The Mayan calendar is NOT an instrument for tracking the procession of time as previously thought, but as a meter and measure of the evolution of human consciousness.

What Does the Mayan Calendar Mean to Us?

It means that we will have the capability to see the patterns and flow of interest and action across humanity. Consciousness is becoming more aware of who and what it is. Consciousness is opening the door to see how we all work together - AS ONE - to manifest or create our own reality.

If you are able to pay attention to the unfolding pattern of Creation, this is what you will be conscious of. The speed of change and the continued disclosure of the nature of Creation will become a stabilizing force in your existence - not a confusing tumble of cause and effect, accident and loss.



....Whatever happens I sure hope the Saints can win a Superbowl....
