The Non-Saints Saints Hall of Fame (1 Viewer)

Can’t forget about Adrian Peterson’s notable contributions to our NFCCG win in ‘09. His fumbles killed a few drives and gave us more opportunities for the win..Maybe not a first ballot non-Saints HOF’er, but his efforts are solidly appreciated.

Matt Ryan for allowing himself to be sacked 21 times by Cam Jordan, an NFL record for sacks by a defender on any one QB

All good choices so far. Here are new ones:

Pierre Garcon - One of the most underrated plays in the Super Bowl. 2nd quarter, 3rd down for the Colts and they're up 10-3. Manning hits Garcon in stride and Garcon drops it with plenty of room to run. If Garcon catches it, he easily gets the first down and AT LEAST crosses into Saints territory with the ball.

Matt Stover - Super Bowl, Colts up 17-16. Stover misses a 48 yard field goal, giving Drew and the boys a short field for their go-ahead drive.

Alshon Jeffery - The crushing heartbreak of the NFCCG has made people forget how close we came to having our hearts stomped out in the divisional round. PHI's cruising down the field for what could be a winning TD with under 2 minutes left and an open Alshon Jeffery lets a perfectly acceptable Nick Foles pass clank off his hands straight to Lattimore.

Andy Reid - For punting to us on 4th and 10 when we were up 27-24 late in the 4th, banking his defense to stop Deuce (something they could not do all day) from getting a first down instead of trusting his passing game (Fred Thomas and Josh Bullocks were decidedly less formidable foes than Deuce, IMO).

Nice catch on the Garçon drop. I’d forgotten about that one.

maybe jumping the gun a bit, but John Lynch for gifting us Kwon!

John Lynch is absolutely in our Non Saints hall of fame but not exactly for the reason you mentioned.

It was John Lynch that hit Drew Brees in the playoff loss that ended his Chargers' career. With that strike on Drew's shoulder, our franchise was forever changed.

It was the last game of the season, not a playoff game. The only time the AFC and NFC meet in the playoffs is in the SB.

The above said, my fondest memory of Lynch occurred in the first game of the 2002 season. The Bucs went on to win the SB
that season. During the 3rd quarter, Lynch tried to tackle Deuce high. Lynch lost that battle and sat out the rest of the game
from a concussion.

edit- Lynch was a Bronco in 2004/ That said, the Chargers had no chance to make the playoffs. Brees still dove into the pile to
try and recover the fumble.

Wasn't it Lynch who stripped Drew in the Chargers' end zone that led to the scrum that resulted in his arm nearly being ripped off? Because we all know how that ended up.
