... is that we traded a conditional 2009 pick for Vilma, not this year's pick

This is on NFL.com on the 'Transactions' page under New Orleans:

Jonathan Vilma (LB) traded (for a conditional 2009 4th-round pick).

So there we have it. It was a 2009 pick, 4th round, conditional.

Hope this clears up the confusion

so we still have a 4th? Hopefully Forte drops that far and we can get him in the 4th. I know its a long shot, but i love the way that kid runs. Either way, good to have the pick.

Thats the way it was announced when the trade went through.

Look, I'm not calling you a liar, but I still don't believe this...

I think NFL.com has it wrong.

I believe NFL.com is not an unfailable source. I still am not sure, it seemed pretty solid when Tennenbaum with the Jets confirmed in an interview I read that it was a 4th this year and a conditional 2nd or 3rd next year with a returning of the 4th next year.

I wouldn't count on that 4th this year just yet.

They most definitely could have it wrong, but that's what they are reporting. It would seem that they would have the inside scoop on exactly what was traded. There were just so many conflicting reports on what was exactly traded.

The report on us getting our fourth back next year and giving up our third if certain targets are met just seems a little too much like an NBA deal to me. That's not to say it isn't accurate, but this is what the NFL is reporting.
