The ride continues! [TITLE CHANGED - AGAIN] (3 Viewers)

That truly is great news, Jay. If you make it back to Lafayette for any reason, we will get the lunch band back together. How is the northeast treating you? Did you enjoy last winter? Pats fans treating you okay? Inquiring minds want to know.

Thanks for sharing the great news.

That would be awesome.

So far, so good. This winter was supposedly one of the mildest they've had lately. For me weather is weather. Just have to dress properly or stay inside. Pats fans have been for the most part OK although there have been a couple who have challenged me. Once I start quoting actual, provable stats it turns into "good natured ribbing" with undertones of "I can't believe someone from Louisiana could be that well versed in football". :ezbill:

I hope this will really be the final update, at least on this subject:

I have completed treatment and will be ringing the bell this week: https://www.houstonchronicle.com/ne...-bell-rings-with-relief-and-hope-11135577.php The scans are clear, no more biopsies to be done.

I am cancer free.

Now, there are some things that have to be done and I will forever be under the watchful eyes of a cancer specialist or two for the remainder of my, what is now hoped to be long, life. There will be scans and tests and occasional visits. There may be "maintenance" therapies. I plan to take each of them in stride.

I want to thank each and every one of you who has offered good thoughts, prayer, encouragement, support, a shoulder to cry on, a joke to laugh at, meals, treats and smiles. I have said it before and I will continue to say it - waking up each morning knowing that someone is praying for you and loving you is the greatest gift any of us can receive. I am beyond blessed.
:melike: That is such awesome news, Jay! I am absolutely thrilled (and relieved) to hear that you are Cancer free! Lung cancer is a tough one to conquer.

BR, that is fantastic news. congratulations and i am happy for you.

I cannot believe that it has been a year since I rang the bell. I have a scan coming up in early June, but all of the scans have been clear so far and I don't expect this one to be different. I have started to regain some of the strength I lost and I'll admit I am in horrible shape. I am still dealing with side-effects and from what we (medical team) can tell I'll be dealing with those things for a long time.

I still wake up every day thankful for the prayers and support. I am humbled by all the good thoughts, well wishes and positivity.
