Yes, it's a beautiful church. It was nerve racking b/c I initially just saw that it was St. John's Episcopal church, which is the church I go to, but this is the one near the White House, and I go to the one in Georgetown. But our rector was an associate rector at the one burning right now before we called her to our church. Super sad. I'll probably go down tomorrow to help clean up.
If they burn down Holy Trinity church in Georgetown, I am going to cry. That church has so much history, I love it & we used to go there all the time.

The Jesuits had the best stocked bar in the rectory I have ever seen. I was shocked at how well those people take care of their priests “liquid diets.” 🤣

You would have loved the Jesuit priests at Loyola, NOLA. Them boys could drink lmao... one was the advisor to the Delta Gamma chapter there...

Agree, Trinity is a great church as well. Actually one of our parishioners is actually Catholic (his wife is Episcopal), so they split their time between our church and Trinity.

And I hear you on the Jesuits. I had a few of them as professors at Georgetown, and they were great to just talk to and listen to, and having a few with them made it even better.

Anyone see the video of JR Smith, beating the living dog crap out of a guy that broke a window on his truck, during the riots and protest last night? It was some guy’s worst nighmare. He was lucky there were some guys that helped prevent JR Smith from crippling or even killing the punk. It was epic.
Read about that......kid picked the wrong dude to mess with. Kid ran away like wild fire as soon as he was able.

You do realize that the FCC is an executive branch agency that reports to the White House and has a chairperson appointed by the president?

Which is exactly why now would be the worst possible time to give the FCC more power over the press. I mean, IMO, there is never a good time for the government to have control over the one group that is supposed to keep the government in check by reporting the truth of what they do, but now would be a particularly bad time.

Actually it isn't an executive branch agency - it reports to Congress . . . though the president does appoint the chairman. I deleted my post as inaccurate.

Either way, the characterization of the FCC as socialist is not really worth gratifying with engaging on. But the First Amendment certainly serves as the check against any over-regulation.

Some morons decided to empty out some expensive stores in Santa Monica.....the police finally blocked off the area.

Trump was rushed to an underground bunker as protests erupted outside the WH again. For reference the last time this was done was with Dick Cheney after the 9/11

Yeah, I know. I'm just saying it's rife for influence from the White House. Anyway, yes, to call it Socialist (even if it was totally controlled by Congress) is ridiculous and the First Amendment should check any over-regulation.
