there was a doc on Blockbuster and they are the sole remaining franchise out of 5800~ stores

It is more a museum that an actual BB now but it is fun if you are in Bend.

Bend is flipping awesome vacation spot btw. Like amazing.

The nostalgia for Blockbuster is funny to me, because when they were growing like a plague I remember people complaining about them putting better curated mom and pop video stores that had deeper rental catalogs out of business. Couldn't compete with Blockbuster on the new release front, though.

Like if someone waxes nostalgic for Peaches, I doubt it’s a hankering for a mediocre souvenir shop that sells records
