Definitely! A playoff caliber team, excellent protection, Michael Thomas and coach Payton to guide you? Yes please.
One of the things I've been jealous of is the Packers' transition from Favre. The first year without their all time great, they went 11-5. The next year they won the Superbowl. The year after that they went 15-1...
So its not crazy to think we might not skip a beat when Drew retires as valuable as he has been.
Rodgers played in 2008 and we won the Super Bowl the next year so you got things messed up.
Ah my bad. Forgot Favre took a year off. I was going based off when he started in Minny. Ok so they had one 6-10 year to start. But THEN they went 11-5 (the year we won SB), then SB, then 15-1.
Yeah, fine. whatever. Its beside the pointFavre played with the Jets that year.
Speaking of Roger, I waiting for a couple of bad games from him. Little whispers creeping in, if you know what I am talking about.Ah my bad. Forgot Favre took a year off. I was going based off when he started in Minny. Ok so they had one 6-10 year to start. But THEN they went 11-5 (the year we won SB), then SB, then 15-1.
Boo on you...or shall I say Beaux on YeauxTaysom Hill will be 30 when the season starts and regularly keeps the ball on option plays, on top of playing special teams. He's closer to the end of his career than the beginning.
Warford is a free agent next year and cutting Peat after the 2020 season creates $19.4M in dead money so not happening. Even after his second year of his deal, it still involves eating $7.8M in dead money. Not only that, but they've done it in mind with the salary cap. It's hard to pay a bunch of talented people. But next year we can cut Peat or Warford to save money, and we'll have to let some others walk too. But we're still OK going into the future with the talent that's left and how much we have to pay them.
yo do know he had like 4-5 years off after college with his mission. so hes only played 4 seasons and only 2 where hes actually been on the field taking hits..Taysom Hill will be 30 when the season starts and regularly keeps the ball on option plays, on top of playing special teams. He's closer to the end of his career than the beginning.
Agree with everything you said, except the young secondary part. Jack Rabbit and Jenkins are two starters that are not too far from retiring. If you look at what the saints have done over the past 4/5 years we have slowly built a very you solid team that can win without Brees in the future.
Armstead is now the veteran of the OLine, our Dline is young outside of Jordan who is in his prime. RB and WR are young, secondary is very young and a future QB who is 27 with zero wear and tear. What Loomis and Payton have done under the radar has been brilliant. The only place we real need a young project is TE and LB. we are so deep that it’s actually scary
I totally agree. We are for the most part a young team filled with ascending players. We will still need to get a solid QB when Drew goes, but I trust in Coach Payton to figure out whether it will be a FA like Stafford or a draft selection next year.
One 41 yo QB skews that.I read somewhere the Saints are the 2nd oldest team. I was shocked!
