The Saints Report "Official" Mock Draft discussion thread... (1 Viewer)

Posted in the wrong one haha. Anyway, Texans checking in and looking to trade down. The addition of Ed Reed really gives us a lot of room and moves to make with the 27th selection.

Hah I thought you did that on purpose! :hihi:

Ravens GM checking in. Thanks for all the work making this happen guys!

Colts GM checking in.

Looking forward to doing this again this year !

Chargers are taking offers to trade down to all that might be interested

Nice. Maybe you don't want to say, but do you like any of the QBs in the first? Namely Geno Smith

A complex question.

Ill say the Jets are in a tough position for drafting and a good position for drafting. Obviously they need a better QB, but they have several on the roster right now with the Sanchez/Tebow cap hit and the signing of Garrard I am not fully convinced the Jets are compelled to solve the problem this year...

Mark Sanchez
David Garrard
Greg McElroy
Tim Tebow
Matt Simms

Plus, with the recent purges of talent, and the Revis situation it almost appears they may be taking a rebuild approach. Which basically makes BPA an easy pick up and down the draft.

Potentially Lost from the 2012 Roster....
Mike DeVito
Shonn Greene
Dustin Keller
LaRon Landry
Yeremiah Bell
Chaz Schilens - ???
Calvin Pace - cut
Sione Pouha - cut
Bart Scott - ????
Matt Slauson - ???
Brandon Moore - ???

New Key Signings for 2013...
Antwan Barnes (I mock drafted him a few years back)
Willie Colon
Antonio Garay
Mike Goodson
David Garrard

...These look more like fillers to me than answers.

I think Geno Smith is a good QB, but I cant reach for him. The other problem is I am really bad at evaluating QBs. What I do have going for me is that as a group the SR "expert" Mockers really tend to undervalue QBs. So I think there is a good chance at some point I may get a value QB pick...we will see.

If we dont get one I think the Jets will be drafting early enough next year that they should have a chance at the top 2014 QB Prospect be it Johnny Manziel, David Fales, A.J. McCarron, Tajh Boyd, Teddy Bridgewater, Zach Mettenberger, or Tyler Russell.

Basically I made my list where value meets need so we will see what happens. To that I think I am going to add a second set of eyes.

I won't give anything away but my first round pick will determine where I go the rest of the draft, all depends on what I consider BPA at 11

Arizona Cardinals checking in. Thank you crosswatt.

7th pick in first round

Capsule:

Finished 5-11 in 2012, last in NFC West that features the NFC Champion 49ers and rising Seattle Seahawks
Fired General Manager Rod Graves and head Coach Ken Whisenhunt.
Hired longtime Cardinal front office guy Steve Reim as new GM.
Hired Bruce Arians as Head Coach, last seen guiding the upstart Colts to playoffs.

Many notable roster changes, with new regime in place: Cut ties with Kevin "Dead Money" Kolb, Beanie Wells and Early Doucet. Signed RB Rashard Mendenhall, QB Drew Stanton, CB Jerraud Powers, LB Lorenzo Alexander, S Yeremiah Bell, CB Antoine Cason. DE Matt Shaughnnessy.

This is a team that has talent on defensive side, but again no proven QB, and a lack of team chemistry.

Lot of needs: QB, G, T, OLB, ILB, TE
