Swallowed glass when I was a toddler. I'm told that's why I have trouble swallowing when upside-down to this day.

Knocked myself out for a good 1/2 hour in second grade. Fell off the fireman's poles onto my temple. Woke up as my dad was driving me to the hospital (I had no idea that old Dodge sedan could move like that!).

Fractured my jaw in high school and didn't realize it for days. Really put a crimp in my social life when my jaw was wired shut. The halitosis was just lethal after a month or two, there's only so much Listerine can do when you simply can't brush behind your teeth.

But all of that pales in comparison to my first full-on TN attack. Ye gods. Like having an electrified pitchfork shoved in my face.

I knew it!!! You are that kid that lived down the street when I was7!!

.....and what's a "full-on TN attack"? (Torn neck?) :)

although pales by most.. kind of relate to the bclemms foot injury.. 4 months in a boot is not fun. although, it doesn't limit you near as much as the 3 months in a body cast i was in.. do to back defect.. basically 3 lower vertabrae are cracked, deteriorating, constantly slippin around.
impaled hand on car between the fingers and able to see the knuckles, wasn't painfull, just shocking at the blood going everywhere.

probably worst pain, headache had after mylogram(sp)-post ct-scan. For a week, was in bed anytime lift head it would go to throbbing.. makes one hold there need to go to a restroom much more than normally would. and that was while taking think was 7.5 percocets if recall right. all ther percs good for was making my head seem like it was spinnin. nothing for the pain. I know the percodans gave in the hospital didn't even do that much for it. Might as well been m&m's

the diagnosage of shin splints & bronchitus in basic training ,and because only 2 weeks to go, gave analgesic rub and ace bandages. got me kicked out saying poor motivation lack of effort due to unable to run the 1.5 miles in the time. It took me a minute and 10 sec longer. but came down to a prob with back noted above that specialist said there was no way in hell i could have ran it.
getting rear ended by a freightliner and totalling olds trofeo didnt' feel good for a couple months. and couldnt' walk for any real distances for a couple years.

Trigeminal Neuralgia.

It really does rock your face.

Luckily, I haven't had a recurrence since I got my wisdom tooth removed. Although I do still get this weird, electric sensation when I shave.

I know a lady that had that or something similar. She said it hurt just to walk outside, because the wind would feel like it was eating her face off. That's gotta be pretty terrible.

Broke my neck in three places. Ended up with fusion C4,5 & 6, and graft C5. Seperated my left shoulder 4 times. Broken left hand, left wrist and right ankle......still a huge motocross fan.

Broke my back in a freak fishing accident. I pride myself on being a tough guy and fighting through pain until it goes away...but damn, when I couldn't get up off the deck of the boat I knew there was a problem. Had a handful of pretty significantly broken vertebrae around the L-2 to L-5 area. Of course the worst part was that we were 12 miles out when it happened, and still had to get back into shore eventually. That was pain like I've never felt before. After talking with the doc though, we decided against surgery (fusion was one option but not practical for whatever reason...and the other options included something where a balloon is placed inside the bones and blown up to relieve the compression. We opted against that too since back surgery is a delicate thing and should be a last option most docs think. Just tried the rest and relaxation method to let it heal on it's own.

It's been about 1.5 years since that day, and thankfully I have no lingering effects after the rest period...I've even been able to get back out there and play some golf, etc with no problem. It did end my "comeback" into semi-pro football that I had planned, but oh well. The only real downside was it's pretty darn tough (i.e. impossible) to exercise with a broken back and I literally put on about 70-80 pounds that I am now working diligently to return to my once ravishing physique. :hihi:

When I was four years old, I was twice run over by a car. Both times, same car. The person driving actually backed up and got me a 2nd time...

I was in at Glenwood in West Monroe for three weeks.

Keep in mind that this information was given to me after the fact. I don't remember any of it..
It happened at Timbers Apartments on Arkansas Rd. The apartments sit on top of a hill. I was at the top of the hill on my Big Wheel sitting on the grass (being a good boy for once) The rest of the neighborhood kids were out in the parking lot. Well this moron of a woman took her boyfriends car and started driving up the hill at pretty good speed. She wasn't paying attention (obviously) and had to swerve to miss the kids in the parking lot. Of course that meant I was her new target. She completely ran over me. My body rolled off the grass and into the parking lot. At that point she backed up (probably not knowing where I was) and ran over me again.

This woman then put it into drive and actually tried to make a hit and run out of it. She ended up in a ditch. We found out later that she didn't even have a drivers license. She was really upset with her boyfriend and stole his car. Apparently she had a connected family and ended up not serving a day in jail. Our family only collected money to pay for the medical bills.

While in the hospital, I underwent 5 surgeries. According to my Mom, my heart stopped 3 times. I didn't come to for over a week. Amazingly I only have a couple of minor scars left to remind me of that time.

A couple of years later I cut off my left ring finger. The docs did a great job of sewing it back on but now my 2nd knuckle is fused and can't be flexed at all. But that is pretty minor compared to the car accident....

When I was about 4 years old, a house brick fell from about 5 feet on my big toe while being barefoot. It also hit about 2 other toes, but it hit the big toe directly. I probably bled at least a pint or 2 & my toe nail instantly fell off. BTW, I was never taken to a doctor or a hospital.

There is a test for STD's where they insert what is basically a really long, thick Q-tip into a place where nothing should ever be inserted, in order to get a swab... That is all I am going to say about that.
