I pause it to answer a kid's question who came early from lunch
at time another student walks in and is like "Jonny Quest?... my granddad used to watch that"

A lot of pop culture tv, movies, music from then are still popular today and are played in regular rotation, and if not played, at least easily accessible

In 1993 it would have been hard to see a complete season of the Jack Benny show

Jurassic park is aired all the time (todays kids have seen it right)

No internet, smartphones or social media would be a huge adjustment (im sure it would be hard for many of us who lived through the 90s to go back from a tech standpoint)
