Things That Make You Feel Old (3 Viewers)

Saw a news story this morning about an athlete, a hockey player, who just died in his early 40s.. obvs way too young to die.. but then i also saw that it said his name and then “1981-2024”…. So what’s making me feel old today is the realization that there are people born in the 1980s who are now in their 40s………. Or, said another way- what’s making me feel old today, and every day, is mathematics .

When you’re on your daily run, which you’ve been doing for years now, and your big toe on your right foot starts hurting like crazy. You figure maybe you stepped poorly and it will just be sore for a few hours. Then those few hours turn into days. Then you think maybe you sprain something or even tore a ligament, so you get with your doc for a consult.
After testing, a sprain, tear, break, and even gout are all ruled out.
Dude you have arthritis in your right, big toe. Here, rub some Voltaren(tm) gel on it and good luck. Nothing else can be done.

Exactly!

I've done that to my toe, last May, still hurts.

Go in the gym, bench press, mysteriously a week later, I have a pain in my left chest that radiates to the back. Sporadically, a pang kicks in. No, not a heart attack because when I flex, it hurts, hence the muscle strain. But it's been six weeks and counting of what the H-E double hockey sticks is going on??!!

What took two weeks to heal now takes five months.......

Do you remember the early 90s the first time someone brought a super soaker to water gun fight?

Had to be like the Native Americans fight against guns for the first time

Total devastation.

If you had never felt white hot jealousy before, you sure did that day
