This is embarassing -RROD on demo station console at GDC (1 Viewer)

Demo units are notorious for the RROD. Tis the territory when you keep the system on from 10am - 9pm 6 days a week or so. But, funny either way it goes

Thats strange...usuall the RROD has the upper right light out, that one has the upper left.

My original 360 got the RROD for the second time. Back to texas it goes.

Ok. I sent in my Xbox 360 last Wednesday. I just went to "check the status" on Xbox.com and now instead of having my serial number for my Xbox it says this:

You have no registered devices.

!?!?!?!?!?

Should I be worried? Is this normal?

Take some time out of your busy life, and call Microsoft. Mine said the same thing, and then I called and they gave me a delivery date.

put just about any console inside a glass enclosure and leave it on and see what happens.

heat will fry any processor....and break any connection.....wether it be a PS3, PS2 or Xbox360.

yeah thats fair and balanced reporting on bbc's part and ps3 fanboi comments abound aswell.

its just a red ring, not an rrod. either the voltage dropped on the power source, or theres a loose cable.

Yeah RROD was/is a huge problem. I still don't believe they released them like that. But I take the good with the bad. My 360 was replaced for free, just took some time and they will get my business becuase of that. They took responsibility, manned up and fixed the problem / or will.

Sony lost my business when I went through 3 ps2's and they took zero responsibility for it. Just said it was a user error (my butt) I ended up going through 3 of them and they all crapped out on me (disc read error), only reason I kept buying them was I wasn't really paying for them, I would remove the bar codes from the back and swap them with the new one I would buy and then return and get my money back (old broken one in box, new one at my house) That went on until I got an original x-box.

I despise the RROD, but not as much as I hate Sony in general.

Wow....that's a heck of a return scam. Not saying Sony didn't deserve it or anything....hopefully the retailer got thier money back on them.

thats what happens when a company refuses to warranty a widespread issue. the consumer takes action into his own hands, like a video game vigilante. the only party hurt by this is sony, both in public view and in monetary value. the person who re-bought the console (if any, he probably claimed it was broken) got a brand new one.

Hey maybe it was wrong, But when you 18 years old (maybe I was 19) and come from a mid to low class with 6 siblings. You don't have any money and my Parents tried to spoil us all as much as they could but that wasn't much if one kid gets a new PS2 whats the other get? I had a job the day I graduated highschool (actually my senior year of high school was work) because I went to a vocational school for carpenty and was sent out on co-op jobs making 10 bucks an hour. Anyways no PS2 was being bought by mom and dad for me, I had to work for it and dropping a months pay on a PS2 to have it break in a month, only to call the company and have them tell you it was a user error and there would not do anything to help me. If you remember at the time there was NONE is stores anywhere, there were harder to get than a tickle me elmo. I had to order mine directly from Sony and they shipped it to me, So I didn't have a store receipt, I had a sony one and a packing slip and a big FU from the company itself. So I have a 300 dollar CD player cause any game or DVD would give me the "DISC READ ERROR" and i'm out my money (which was alot to me at the time) and like 10 nice little 50 dollars plastic coasters, that Sony called games.

SO I thought fast what can I do, Sony said to bad, and I couldn't take it to a store without a receipt. I saved my next check, and instead of paying my bills right away (car insurance, throw dad a few bucks for rent) Went to the store bought a new one with this skeem I didn't even think would work but was gonna try anything before I just wasted over 800 bucks (games and system). Pulled off the metal sticker thing on the back, put it over the new one so the serial numbers were the same on the System/box/receipt. Took it back to the store they said its opened we can only exchange it, I said fine, got it excahnge, went to the same store different location with the closed one I just got, returned it for cash.

Repeated this process 2 times!!

If anyone reading this bought a PS2 from circuit city in Natick, Ma in the year 2001 - 2004 that was broken right out of the box. I am apologizing to you, I'm sorry. More than likely since the broken ones were in opened boxes tho (just packaged up nicely), I don't think they put them back out on the shelves. Besides stores have insurance for this stuff, due to sony not caring I did not. So I had to make my own insurance policy, and it worked for me.

Now I am not happy with my RROD problem. But its nice to know Microsoft will take care of me if it does occour, rather than laugh at me and give me the finger. Good old America! Microsoft, what a nice American company! Forget that evil Japanesse one. If you support Sony the terrorists win!! LOL j/k But the reasons above are the simple reasons why I will not support another Sony console. Altho my 2 of my brothers and best friend have PS3, and I will still play it, especially when I make one get Metal Gear and camp on his couch for a week or 2 after work to beat it.

no. for some reason the web site doesn't display the registration number if you don't register it thru the web site. it'll be ok.
