So its Feb 19
Five days after the 14th

Wife has been moping around all evening, I ask her whats up... took like 4 times before she decides to tell. I get the whole nine about not getting her a card for valentines day, how much she's hurt, how I always get her a card, etc etc....

Yet I cooked a great meal, candle lit. Had a nice arrangement of flowers. Made her favorite desert and had what I thought was a quality evening. I even gave a box of chocolates to the kids to give her. BUT NOOOOO the flowers & candy from kids felt like an after thought. The dinner wasn't enough, I can cook anytime. No mention of the candles or the favorite desert, the quality time or even the friggin full body massage.

My God.... guess I know better than to press her about what's wrong when she's moping around.

...and I even did the dishes!

I should have stuck with my original plan of frozen pizza & Warcraft, the result would be the same.

Yea I think that's obviously the answer. Too bad its a year away, I look forward to the cries about no flowers, no dinner, no back massage... all you got me was this stinkin' card!

...and the best part, the unopened chocolates sat for a day or two and I asked why (because she digs chocolate), her response was hmmf I like Godiva better...

I just remembered that.

Wow, she doesn't know how good she's got it...A piece of cardboard with a heart makes that much of a difference??

Send the chocolate over here if she doesn't want it...cheap chocolate, expensive chocolate, Godiva chocolate....it's all works for me....:D

(and we actually did have frozen pizza on Valentine's Day... :9: )

I'll bet you can find a half price card somewhere...either that or a recycled one; just cross the name out....:hihi:

You've got it lucky, man. Mine is insane when it comes to saving money....yet she wants me to get her a present. So I have to find that magic hidden threshold between a gift that's not so cheap she gets mad and one that isn't so expensive that she freaks out that I spent a lot. And its not just V-Day. Its her birthday, Christmas, anniversary.....

I've found the margin between the two is about 37 cents.

Dude,
Did she do anything for you??? It's a (made-up) holiday that celebrates love and relationships...those are both two way streets.

As for next year's plan...I got no problem with card only if you plan is be fighting with her on the 19th again...then you can celebrate ya'lls own new holiday. YEHAA

This is why I break it to girls rather quickly and up front that I don't do Valentines. I completely despise it in all ways.
