Remember, all that are pushing saying we gotta have 1st round corner..
that it's a team, and the best cb tandem in the league last year belonged to denver, but where did they rank defensively..
and those that think we have to sell out and only get defense..
think about oakland the past 2 years.. Their D was 2nd in the league in 06 and how many game they win? 3 IIRC?
Last year their D was still pretty good, but they're still picking 3rd this year..
You have to have the best complete team to win the championship..

LOL!

Maybe not, but I sure wish we had a good one to go with our O. Thanks for the post.

.....Offense is the least of our problems....we just need to keep that engine going.....we still need the parts for the Defense's engine.

But they were also last in the league in offense.

...because they were still horrible on offense (25th overall).

We finished first in total offense in 2006 and fourth last year. So I think focusing mostly on D in this draft would be a wise decision for us. Like you say, the "best complete teams" win championships. Unlike the Raiders, we've got the O. We need some D!

Denver is not a good comparison...their O is inconsistent at best. We had a top 4 O last year and the top O in the league in '06. If we solidify our D, we will be a force to be reckoned with. Your concept isn't going to be unpopular, but your idea applied to the Saints doesn't fit.

offense wins games defense wins championships.. we will not win any championships if our D plays like last year. CB isnt necessarily our problem, the push from the D line has something to do with our CBs lack of production.

think about the posts that were against the re-signing of our O- players..
if you dont' improve you're regressing in this league.
I"m not saying that we need to get offensive weapons either. we were really close to still making the playoffs, and hadn't not been for a few plays that didn't get executed well, and few bad bounces, we would have. Even with that pathetic Defense.
Personally, when the players we picked up are healthy, we are vastly improved.
Problem is injuries happen all the time.. just have to hope that whoever fills in the places do decent job of performing at high level,
Scheduling, the way the ball makes a peculiar bounce, and even sometimes refs make the impact between 7-9 and 12-4,
and CHI, with all do respect.. Our O- was fairly inconsistent as well last season.
