Thoughts on Jimmy Graham (if he is released by Green Bay) (2 Viewers)

It takes two to tango and last year Jimmy wanted to tango his way up to Green Bay. Can't say that I blame him because the money the Packers offered was absurd.

Now if he is available and if the price is right I can get behind it. Fences have been mended and time heals old wounds. I'd love to see Jimmy in the black and gold again. If he's even half the player he once was then he could roll out of bed tomorrow morning and be the best TE on our roster.

Of course Jimmy isn't in his prime anymore but it's hard for me to believe that he wouldn't have success as a 3rd option in the passing game. Michael Thomas can't be guarded by traditional means and Alvin Kamara is one of the most dynamic players in the league. Throw Jimmy Graham in the mix and the mismatches would be too much to overcome for any defense.

The Saints can and should do better in FA or the draft..................so hell no!!The last thing the Saints need to do is to "feature" a washed up TE who still either can't or won't be on board with the TEAM concept!!

Definitely bring him in. He won't cost nearly as much as he would have last year in free agency and he will do way better with Brees. I really want this reunion to happen but I'm also tempering my expectations.

Hey not a fan of bringing him in if there is someone else better. If there is no other options and he comes cheaper or a good deal to be in an offense that allows him to be good, then why not.

Didn't they just pay a roster bonus of several million dollars? There is zero chance they cut him if that's the case. It defeats the whole point of cutting him.

The 5 million dollar bonus date is March 15th. If they cut him, they save 5.3 mil in cap, but have 7.3 million in dead money. So, yeah... they're likely to keep him. Did not see that before I made the thread. But hey, it's still possible. And it really is a slow news day.

Weird how people will cheer the Dez Bryant signing but say Graham is washed up. I trust our current crew of talent evaluators to fill out the roster this offseason. Personally, I want young talent.

The latest I read was the Packers intend to keep Graham for the 2019 season. The Saints will address this need, I'm hoping we draft a young guy. Saints are great at getting some great talent in the later rounds of drafts. Hopefully that can be the case this year.

I personally like Noah Fant out of Iowa, but highly doubt he will be there when we pick at # 62 in the second round.

I think we need a younger more athletic Tight end then Jimmy. We need to start getting guys that will be in a great groove for when Drew hangs up his cleats and we have to deal with another QB that will never live up to Drew’s legacy. This guy will need tools and a great tight end will be very important!
