Thursday injury report. (1 Viewer)

I agree. I would think it would be just WR and then get someone else to do the returns b/c Harris w/ Jameis works. Harris in general is just a dynamic player and if he could stay healthy he would be amazing.
He is explosive for sure, fun to watch.

He will remain that way if we keep trying to utilize him as a WR.

He’s not, at all. Sucks.
In regards to Deonte Harris, he really is a talented receiver. Runs precise routes, great hands and is quick and fast. Unfortunately, he is 5'6", 170lbs playing against 200lb DB's and 300lbs linemen. It's not if he will get injured, but when? Really love it when he is on the field. Doesn't matter if he is a receiver or just a return specialist, every time he touches the ball, he stands a chance of getting injured, like most NFL players, but because of his body frame, he has more possibility.

I hope they keep utilizing him as a receiver also.

It's clearly the Kick and Punt returns that are getting him injured. They're violent positions and he's taking huge hits from way bigger guys running with a full head of steam. I don't think he's hurt nearly as much if he only plays WR. Jmo, of course.

False.

He was injured after his long catch and run. His small frame is why he will never be a true WR, needs more “meat” to take on the demands of physicality

I guess the same could be said of any player in the NFL his size. Kyle Murray
is one that comes to mind. What he is doing for his size is truly amazing. But like Harris I worry about his durability
long term.

We need to stop putting him in situations where he's exposed to 250lb linebackers and 300lb D linemen...that means nix the bubble screens with him...keep him running deep corner routes, flys, and post routes. He's magic with the ball in his hands, but if you want to keep him healthy, limit his exposure...his shortest route should be a 15yd out/comeback.

Totally agree. He’s electric and one of my favorite players. If he had more size he’d have been an early first rounder.

True, but at QB, Murray can at least avoid the hits the majority of the time. When he runs with the ball, he can slide when he sees trouble coming. As a receiver, Harris' first concentration is catching the ball then trying to avoid being tackled. More reactive than proactive.
