Who, us? Yup. Take off your paper bags, doomsdayers.

The Panthers' D is exploitable without Josh Norman, plus Newton may miss some games with a concussion. The Bucs are still the Bucs. The Falcons will inevitably melt down later this year, probably starting in the next 2 weeks with games @DEN and @SEA.

Plus we will get Breaux, Armstead, and Rankins back at some point in the not too distant future. We can very realistically still win the division. Who Dat.

And winning the division will be the only way into the playoffs if the first four games are any indication.

Carolina did it at 7-8-1 when they won their first of three in a row. Our playoff hopes are completely under our own control. Take care of winning the rest of the division games, pick up a few other wins and we're in, IMO.

This can only happen if we get healthy and stay that way though. We need to start seeing these guys who've been out much of the year start returning after the bye if we want to have a shot at the division.

I ain't giving up hope until we're mathematically eliminated. Just how I roll. Love my Saints and won't stop pulling for them no matter what.

WHO DAT!

Love the optimism, but we beat a team by 1 point that basically gave us the game by fumbling twice, one of them being unforced. We still have a long way to go.

But like you said, we do get some guys healthy soon and they could be game changers - namely Armstead, Breaux, and even as a rookie, Rankins.

If we can somehow upset Carolina at home, suddenly we are right back in the discussion. And it's starting to look questionable that that would be that big of an upset because the Panthers don't look very good, not to mention they will be coming off a short week and we will have had a week off.

Ah screw it....we're going 13-3...WHO DAT!

Well, we lost our first 2 games by a combined 4 points. A win is a win, and it was about time some breaks went our way. You're right though, still a lot of football to be played.

the two big injuries that hurt us the most against the falcons in week 3 were Tyler Davison and Kenny Vaccaro ... those two are important in the running game .... Vaccaro can come up to the line of scrimmage and make the stops and Davison can clog the lanes .... the biggest problem were the two that replaced them .... Jenkins and Harper .... at that moment I knew that Coleman and Freeman will have a career night ...

Not to be a pessimist but we the next 5 games are going to be brutal. The broncos and Seahawks game to be exact. I need the saints to beat the Seahawks. I live in the Seattle area and I never hear the end of how good the team is and how they're going back to the Super Bowl. It's really annoying since they started rooting for them once they started winning games.

Just an observation; 2nd place doesn't mean much in this division. IF we want to be in the playoffs, the Saints MUST clinch the division. 4 of last 5 years, the 2nd place team has not been to the playoffs.
Even though the season is 1/4 of the way done & many teams in the NFC right now are either 1/2 a game or 1 game ahead of us; nothing is guaranteed. Thus it's division or bust. :gosaints:

Not to be a pessimist, but tied for 2nd is also tied for 4th in this case.
By seeing this as glass half-empty, you are very, very literally, and not the stupid "literally" that means figuratively, being a pessimist.

But wait, I live in Dallas and everyone is saying they are going to the superbowl. [emoji12]
