TIL: Today I Learned... (1 Viewer)

Is “free large juice” code for something
If so it nicely ties the whole story together
I've been sequestered away from my wife for two weeks due to our high risk jobs, so that chick would've had to mace me for humping her leg in WH these days . Even while down in Va a couple months, my wife would come down every other weekend. I still haven't managed to step out her, since she has likely saved my life.

I wish I had some recent tales for you and Joe yet can recall doozies from back in my day....

Today I learned that I will never use Kroger grocery pickup again. I'll go in the store before using that service. In line for 1 hour 5 minutes to get into the pickup spot. Another 1 hour 20 minutes to get the order, which was missing several items. I have no idea how with Walmart, in the same town, I've spent a grand total of 15 minutes on three trips. Oh, and this was a delayed order from Wednesday, that I had to call them about this morning to see what the status was. Nope, sorry, not doing that again.

Yesterday I learned to never ask the wife to pick up steaks at the grocery store. Bless her heart. I love her to death. But she came back with a twin pack of eye round steaks.

I’m going to try and butterfly it. Lightly bread it. Season it heavily. Maybe a reverse sear. And hopefully one of the ferrel dogs in the area will eat it.

Mine used to buy 1/4 thick ribeye's from WalMart. Those are injected with red dye and saline too. Can't not over cook em and they still are blood red in the interior.

Picked up strips from the Zehrs grocery store this morning. They had no ribeye and the strips were on sale for half off. Marinated them in Dales sauce for 5 hours. Delicious. Beef Rice R Roni on the side along with a baguette.

Glaucus Atlanticus is a species of sea slug nicknamed the "blue angel." This otherworldly creature is as rare as it is beautiful and is only found on the coasts of South Africa and Australia.

The slug's mesmerising looks belie a dangerous nature.

The blue angel is carnivorous and feeds on other venomous sea creatures, such as the Portuguese man o' war. It collects the venom from its prey in specialised sacs, concentrates it, then uses the venom on future prey.

Today I learned, some people are finding new employment opportunities, even in this economy.

Looks like a living fractal.

Today I learned, church services are going online via Zoom. I still not sure why people have left Skype, seemed to work fine.
