Sometimes you just learn something strange you'd like to share but there is no good place.

TIL: The subreddit /r/marijuanaenthusiasts is actually about trees, dendrology and getting trees identified from pictures. It has this name becase /r/trees was already taken by marijuana enthusiasts who didn't want to give up the name.

TIL that the old wives tale of getting sick from being wet out in the cold might not really be an old wives tale after all. Sure not feeling too well today after helping tear down the stuff from my sister and B-I-L's wedding reception yesterday morning in the rain at like 48 degrees. Reception was awesome, so when they asked for my help I was happy to.

What a great marketing idea!
Someone should sell loaves of unsliced bread called 'Betty White'!
I can see the grocery shelves stocked with Betty White White & Betty White Wheat .
:idee-puis-non:

TIL that the decks of the Yamato battleship class were made out of Japanese cypress which has a light pink coloring to it. Most powerful battleships ever built with pink decks.

Yup, most ships had a teak deck over the armor because armor is slippery when wet :hihi:
