I'm sure it's just a precaution, but that hit in the Kentucky game no doubt gave him a massive concussion.

Ouch!

The hit was clean but brutal. He's got a concussion I'm sure.

He puked his guts up all the way to the ambulance, but it was said that his pregame illness contributed to that.

I'm not so sure that a respiratory illness would cause such a reaction.

Fla can say what they wat, that wasnt a pregeame illness makeing him throw up like that. That was from the concusion he got.

I did not see the hit but I do know a lot about football concussions. More severe concussions and head injuries can be accompanied by vomiting, so that is not a good sign.

Now it might very well be that the vomiting is related to some flu he has and lets hope thats it. If it is related to the concussion it would be a sign of a more serious grade. Was he ever unconscious?

They tend to let players back way too early after concussions. I know a lot about them because my son was a qb who had several. I also represented a college football player against his school and training staff. He was returned to play too soon after a concussion and suffered a hematoma to his brain in the second game which required brain surgery. There is a phenomenon where a brain is very susceptible to serious second injury after a more mild first injury.

they have a bye week this week before lsu. so he has time to recover but im not sure if he will be himself for awhile.

That looked pretty bad .. he was not knocked out but you know he saw stars... he'll have a headache tomorrow...

He was out for a good bit after his head hit the lineman's knee. You can see his arms just stiffen up. I've seen that numerous times watching UFC. He was knocked out cold, and I'm sure he had a major concussion. They can say what they want to about his respiratory infection, but he didn't vomit all game until that hit. I guarantee he has a concussion.

It looked pretty bad and I'm glad that they didn't screw around and took him right to the hospital to get observed. The brain doesn't like getting messed around with.

The vomiting isn't so much a concern as the fact that he obviously (at least to me) was out cold after the hit.

Vomiting after a hit like he took is a sign of a major concussion. He was vomiting all the way to the ambulance, and never seemed to regain any sort of awareness while he was on the sidelines. You could see it in his face that he didn't know what was going on at the time. The worst part of the entire thing is after the hit when his teammates tried to get him up and his body was limp. He was out cold for a good 3 minutes.

Well at least that hospital staff will become better because of his visit there...

Looks like a grade three concussion to me, meanign there was at least a brief period of unconsciousness. If its his first, they will probably sit him the bye week and let him play against LSU in two weeks. If there are any abnormalities on his cat scan or if his symptoms persist for a week, they would be wise to sit him out.

Most players will under report their symptoms so they can return to play early. The most typical symptoms that persists are headaches and a general malaise where you just feel kind of out of sorts.

If Florida had a game next week I kind of doubt they would play him. Concussions are taken more seriously and the school would look very bad if they did not sit him at least a week.
