After a 35-22 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Oct. 29, New Orleans Saints linebacker Scott Fujita wondered aloud where all the fans had gone in the fourth quarter of that mistake-filled game.
On Sunday, fans poured out of the Superdome after a similar meltdown. After handing the ball to the Ravens five times, the Saints turned it over four times in a 31-16 setback to the Cincinnati Bengals, just a week after giving it up three times in a 38-31 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Fujita was reminded Sunday of what he said following the Ravens’ game and then managed a grin for the first time after the doors to the Saints’ locker room swung open to the media.
“I might have left, too, today,” he said.
