Now that he's on the roster, will he get playing time with the offense?

Or will he be one of those that are regularly on the inactive list?

I think he sees playing time. too versatile and gadgety for sean payton not to find a way to use him.

He also seemed to have much more consistent hands than Coleman.

I would say it depends on 3 main factors.

1) Seans game plan for the next opponent.
2) How does Murphy performs as Returner
3) How does Brandon Coleman performs as WR

spot on I can see him being inactive week one and then activated some time after that on game day depending on #2,3 that you mentioned

Well, Payton likes to have...

The big body, possession receiver: Colston, Graham, Thomas.
The really fast guy who can both go deep and catch the underneath stuff: Henderson, Cooks.
The slippery underneath guy: Moore, Snead.
The burner: Meachem, Morgan, Lewis.

I think the Saints will regularly have all 5 WRs active. Coleman for special teams and if the light does come on for him, stacking him, Thomas, and Fleener in the red zone would be a nightmare to try to defend.

The actor Tommy Jones would like for you to call our new receiver by his name, Tommy LEE Lewis.

I think he's too much of a big play waitin to happen to be inactive. I could be wrong of course I just wouldn't understand leaving that potential sitting on the bench

I agree with Rdanderson and a few others. I think he's shown a little too much potential to be inactive. Like Snead, he's got that "lightning in a bottle" type play. If I'm game planning, which I realize I'm not, I'm finding ways to get this guy the ball. I hope we don't put him inactive. Right now, I'd rather see him over Coleman.

I think we would like him to be active, but try to make your inactive without a WR being on the list it's pretty hard. So if you wanted Lewis active you would pretty much have to make Coleman inactive. Heres my list:

DB - Harris or Crawley
OL - Turner
WR - Lewis
DE - Tapp
RB Hightower
Dt- Onyemata
LB or Another DB? Mauti or Bell maybe?

I'm glad they kept Lewis, he has the feel of a player that can be effective in the NFL. But barring injuries I wouldn't expect to see much of him besides possibly returning kicks. The top 5 receiving options for the offense are Cooks, Snead, Thomas, Fleener, and then Ingram/Spiller.

He will probably be inactive until either a WR misses a game, or Spiller, or Murphy.
