Top 17 Finalist Announced for hall of fame (1 Viewer)

Yet two guys he is ahead of in Sacks and Fumble Recoveries manage to make it to the final 17 even though Rickey was more of a run stuffer than a "sack artist".

Well, he took that first step of getting in the semifinalists...

Baby steps I guess... But progress nonetheless...

People should e-mail the HOF voters year-round to show them his resume for the Hall...

Anyone know their emails?...

Seriously, it is a TOTAL crock that he is not in the Hall already. He's a no-brainer when you look at his stats, the fact that he has a Super Bowl ring, and the impact he had on his team for so many years.
I don't know if the "personal issues" are what's keeping him out, but I can point to many other HOFers who were less than stellar in character issues outside the football field. :dunno:

You know a big part of Rickey not making it could possibly be that his public image has been tarnished recently by his unpaid child support. It really shouldn't matter, but just a thought.

That's probably why they kicked out OJ, Michael Irvin and Lawrence Taylor...oh wait that didn't happen.
